Rick Intrater

Director

Rick Intrater is currently the President and CEO of Long-Term Solutions, LLC, a Bay Area-based company that provides investment and family office services to individuals and families of significant net worth.

During his career he has also served as President and CEO of Sutter Starmont Asset
Management and Sutter Street Capital, SF; practice leader of Mullin Consulting, an executive compensation and benefits consulting firm; a Senior VP of Lehman Brothers-NY and San Francisco, and as a financial analyst for the US Export-import Bank-Washington D.C

In addition to serving as a Director for Viryd Technologies, Rick is also an advisor to the Board of Fallbrook Technologies and to the Board of GEO2 Technologies. His philanthropic activities currently include Chairman of the Board, KIPP Bay Area Schools, and formerly President of Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco; National Trustee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America; Board Member of the Coyote Point Museum of Environmental Education, and past Board Member of the Family Service Agency of San Mateo County.

Rick holds a BA-Finance from the University of Arizona. He completed graduate work in international studies at the University of Missouri. 


Gary E. Jacobs

Director

Gary Jacobs is an investor and philanthropist. He is the Managing Director of Jacobs Investment Company, which participates in real estate development and other investment activities throughout the United States and abroad. In addition, he has multi-million dollar investments in several other venture capital funds. He also owns and operates a professional minor league baseball team, the Lake Elsinore Storm, affiliated with the San Diego Padres.

Gary serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for High Tech High, a public charter high school, and is a board member of the San Diego Symphony and the UCSD Board of Overseers. Gary's other philanthropic work includes being a past president of the United Jewish Federation of San Diego County. Additionally, Gary and his wife created and funded the Gary and Jerri-Ann Jacobs International Teen Leadership Institute which promotes Muslim / Jewish understanding.

Prior to his current investment and philanthropic activities, Gary worked as a software engineer and senior education specialist at QUALCOMM, Inc. and as a software programmer at Linkabit Incorporated.

Gary holds a B.A. in Management Science from the University of California at San Diego.


William G. Klehm III
Director

William G. Klehm III is the Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Fallbrook Technologies Inc. and previously also served as Viryd's Chairman of the Board.  He has over 20 years of automotive-related experience. With numerous leadership positions in the automotive business, including finance, marketing, sales, product development, and manufacturing operations, he has a proven track record of leading and growing successful organizations. Most recently, Bill served as the president and general manager of Newgen Results Corporation (“Newgen”), an automotive customer relationship management firm. During his three-year tenure, Newgen’s revenue and profit grew from $60 million to over $108 million and $6 million to over $15 million, respectively.

Prior to joining Newgen, Bill served as president and SBU director for Visteon Climate Control Systems. He was instrumental in developing and launching Visteon’s $1 billion Aftermarket Division. He started his career with Ford Motor Company in 1985 and held a variety of posts within the Ford Customer Service Division where he was responsible for developing and executing the marketing/growth strategy for the $5 billion customer service
parts business.

Bill holds a B.A. in Management and Marketing from Northwood University and also participated in the Executive Development Program at Harvard University.  He also currently also serves on the board of GEO2 Technologies, Inc.


Xiaozhi Liu

Director

Dr. Xiaozhi Liu is the President and CEO of NeoTek China Operation, and Chairman of Advanced Strategic Leadership (ASL).  Dr. Liu, worked as Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fuyao Group.  She also worked two years as Vehicle Concept Director and the Director for vehicle Electronics, Controls and Software Integration at GM North America.  

From 2001 and 2004, Dr. Liu was the Chairman and Managing Director of GM Taiwan., where she assumed full profit and loss responsibility for the operation.  Prior to that, she was the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Engineer for GM China.

Dr. Liu’s experience also includes the position of Chief Representative / Managing Director at Delphi Automotive Systems in Shanghai, and Customer Director for Delphi China, Sales & Marketing Director positions at four Delphi operations.

Dr. Liu obtained her MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering in Germany at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.  She also attended the Executive Program at Dartmouth Amos Tuck School of Business in 1997. 


Rudolph A.
Schlais Jr.
Director

Rudolph (Rudy) A. Schlais Jr. is executive chairman for China Auto Electronics Group Limited, one of the largest global suppliers of vehicle electrical/electronics distribution systems worldwide.  Previously, he served as the company president and CEO.  Prior to China Auto Electronics Group, Rudy spent more than 42 years in various management roles at General Motors in component and vehicle operations, capped by his role as president and CEO of General Motors Asia Pacific. In that position, he negotiated and led GM’s first Chinese vehicle operations and contributed to GM’s success in capturing market share in the Asia Pacific market.

Recently, Rudy has focused increasingly on technology investments, serving as a limited partner of Greenbriar Equity Partners LP, an executive advisory partner of Windpoint Equity LP and an LP and advisor to Key Principal Partner Equity Funds. He is also chairman of the newly formed, Shanghai-based ASL Management and Consulting Company, and a founding general partner and director of ASL Partners, a developing private equity fund focused on global Chinese manufacturing companies.

Rudy is a graduate of Youngstown State University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also attended Dartmouth College’s Amos Tuck Business School Executive Program. He received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Youngstown State University.

Gary Weiss, founder of The Weiss Group, LLC, has over 30 years of experience in building and managing technology businesses. The Weiss Group, LLC specializes in assisting growth companies by providing management, advisory, financing and executive search services. Gary is also currently Chairman of the Board for GEO2 Technologies, Inc. (GEO2), a company that develops and commercializes products to improve emissions control performance for internal combustion engines. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Source Services, a search and recruiting business that grew from $3 million to $80 million in sales while building 140 offices across the U.S. and Canada, with 480 search professionals. Prior to joining Source Services, Gary held various positions at Periphonics, (at the time, an Exxon Enterprises Company) and IBM.

Gary received a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Arizona.
