John R. (Jay) Bingle
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman

John R. (Jay) Bingle has diverse and extensive experience as an executive, corporate director and deal-maker.  He is the founder and CEO of MarketEcho a consulting firm with particular focus on marketing and demand-side issues. Jay is also chairman of ColdWorld LLC, a manufacturer of refrigerated trucks in China.

From 2005 through 2008, Jay served as chairman and CEO of NewSight Corporation, the global pioneer in dynamic visual solutions.  He expanded NewSight’s global reach to include partners on six continents.

Previously, from 1968 through 1982, Jay was a consultant and executive responsible for corporate development, strategy and business planning for companies including The Turner Company and International Paper Co.  He then was named senior vice president of administration and strategy for Paine Webber, leaving to serve as president of the consulting and products group of insurance company Alexander & Alexander.  In 1984, Jay was named corporate vice president for administration and special initiatives of media leader Time, Incorporated.

Jay left Time in 1986 to found Capital Consulting & Research, Inc., which provided a full range of consulting, research and market assessment services.  Known for its innovative, cutting-edge approach to problem resolution and strategic analysis, CCR was acquired in 1998 by Young & Rubicam Inc., one of the world’s leading advertising agencies. Young & Rubicam then named Jay Chairman and CEO of its direct marketing unit, Wunderman Inc.  He directed more than 5,000 employees and more than 80 offices in over 40 countries.  After leaving Wunderman in 2001, Jay formed MarketEcho LLC, a consulting firm, and has served as its CEO since its foundation.

Jay has served as an advisor to and director of numerous companies and venture capital firms. including Dentsu, m-Qube Inc. and Trident Capital.  He received a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

Charles B. (Chuck) Backus, CPA
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Chuck Backus brings more than 25 years of financial and accounting experience to Viryd Technologies Inc. He is responsible for developing strategic plans, acquiring and managing capital funds, preparing and analyzing financial statements, risk management, and implementing internal control procedures. While holding executive level positions in the aerospace, media management, medical device and service industries, Chuck has successfully established long-term OEM contracts, raised over $75 million in venture capital, negotiated several acquisitions and successfully integrated those businesses

Before joining Viryd, Chuck served as the Chief Financial Officer for 11Giraffes The Elevator Channel, a digital media management and delivery solutions company. Prior to 11Giraffes, he was the CFO and Treasurer at Newsight Corporation, a media solutions company.  His other previous work experience includes serving as VP of Finance at TriVirix International, a medical device manufacturer, and as the Chief Financial Officer at Walter Kidde Aerospace, now Kidde Aerospace.

Chuck is a CPA and holds a BS Accounting from Binghamton University - School of Management.

Martin Price
VP, Engineering

Martin (Marty) Price has twenty-five years of successful experience in manufacturing engineering, product development and operations management. His work experience includes product design, manufacturing process engineering, and computer integrated manufacturing data systems, manufacturing engineering supervision and the development and launch of new manufacturing facilities. Marty began his career at Ford Motor Company where he held a series of increasingly responsible positions both at Ford and at Visteon which was originally a division of Ford.

Prior to joining the Company, Marty served as the General Manager for the US Camshaft Manufacturing for ASIMCO Technologies. While at ASIMCO, he was the Director of Strategic Projects and spent five months at the ASIMCO Operating Company in Hubei, China training the staff on Lean Manufacturing Concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Production Lead Time, TAKT Time, Target Production, EPE and Quick Changeover. Marty's efforts led to significant operational improvements and subsequently, the Operating Company achieved positive cash flow in 2006, after reporting a significant operating loss in 2005.

Marty has additional international experience which includes serving as a Simultaneous Engineering Team Manager for Autopal, a subsidiary of Visteon Corporation in the Czech Republic where he successfully managed product development and manufacturing. He speaks fluent Spanish and completed a four year assignment in Mexico, constructing a new manufacturing facility to supply local content to automotive manufacturers operating in Mexico.

Marty holds a BSME from Purdue University and an MSME from the University of
Michigan.
